PTHS is hosting the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s (PMEA) second Contemporary A Cappella Showcase on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
The showcase will feature large group ensembles led by Deke Sharon, renowned as the “father of contemporary a cappella.” With a resume that includes producing the music for the “Pitch Perfect” films and the NBC show “The Sing-Off,” Deke’s leadership will surely inspire all participants.
In addition to these ensembles, the event will include performances by scholastic a cappella groups, a professional headliner group, and workshops led by a cappella professionals from three different states. Rowdy Rhythm, our full ensemble choir, and Room 100, our contemporary a cappella group, will be performing with the large choir AND on their own during the evening concert.

This is going to be an incredibly exciting event, bringing together over 20 schools from the Pittsburgh area for a day filled with music, learning, and collaboration. You’re not going to want to miss it!
