PMEA A Cappella Showcase 2025 - VOLUNTEERS

All Music Booster Volunteers needed!!!

PTHS will be hosting the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association's (PMEA) second Contemporary A Cappella Showcase on Saturday, November 1. This is going to be an incredibly exciting event, bringing together over 20 schools from the Pittsburgh area for a day filled with music, learning, and collaboration.

The showcase will feature large group ensembles led by none other than Deke Sharon, renowned as the “father of contemporary a cappella.” With a resume that includes producing the music for the "Pitch Perfect" films and the NBC show "The Sing-Off," Deke's leadership will surely inspire all participants.

In addition to these ensembles, the event will include performances by scholastic a cappella groups, a professional headliner group, and workshops led by a cappella professionals from three different states.  Rowdy Rhythm, our full ensemble choir, and Room 100, our contemporary a cappella group, will be performing with the large choir AND on their own during the evening concert. You’re not going to want to miss it!

• Time: 10:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Registration begins at 9:30 AM)
• Location: PTHS
• Evening Concert: 7:30 PM

Volunteers will be needed throughout the day in areas of registration, concessions, nurses, chaperones/monitors, concession sales, meal helpers, concert ushers.  This is an fundraising opportunity for the Music Boosters and all families are welcome to volunteer!

Clearances are required to be on file with the district to volunteer for chaperones, hall / dressing room monitors, lunch and dinner monitors and nurses.  Visit the district website to review the policy on clearances
